About

In 2014, Oaklands church felt a call of God to work in Swansea in the area of mission, prayer and unity with Bible believing churches. From 2015-2019, successful Shine missions were held at the St Helen’s rugby and Cricket ground, seeing numbers come to Christ, healed of physical problems and the birthing of a city prayer initiative, led by various church leaders across the region. After returning from holding Zoom meetings during covid, the prayer meetings eventually led into the wider involvement of churches from across the UK and nations. A Kingdom vision for geographical unity was born that went beyond church affiliations. These times are for the equipping and fellowship of the body of Christ, along with a move of the Spirit, to serve the purpose of God in each region and see the nations touched by the Gospel.

Basis of Faith

The Holy Trinity

The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

The Sovereignty of God

The love, grace, and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming, and judging the world.

The Scripture

The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.

The Incarnation

The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

The Atonement

The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: where He stood as the fully sufficient substitute for humanity, taking upon Himself the full penalty due for our sins and thereby completely satisfying God’s holiness. In this finished work, He demonstrated His Lordship at the cross, completely defeating all the powers of darkness, sin, and death, and reconciling us to God.

The Resurrection

The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; His victory over the grave ensuring eternal life for all who believe.

The Ascension

The Lord Jesus is now ascended as King at God’s right hand, interceding for the saints, and reigning over all creation. We believe the Church is seated with Christ in heavenly places, and from His position of authority, He has given five-fold gift ministries to equip the saints and lead the Church into its full Kingdom purpose.

Justification

The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

The Holy Spirit

The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance and unites us with Christ through new birth. We further believe in a subsequent, distinct and continuing work of the Spirit, beyond salvation, which empowers believers to witness and enables them to be used in the gifts of the Holy Spirit for today.

The Church

The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, given life by the Spirit to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, and be built into His House on earth.

The Return of Christ

The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfill the purposes of God, bringing eternal life to the redeemed and establishing a new heaven and a new earth.
